Louder Than a Bomb (free) Documentary screening!

Louder than a Bomb is a documentary of the biggest school poetry slam in the world! I cried like a baby when I watched it in america. I think it is interesting, educational and insightful for creatives, academics and anyone interested in education or community. It is also just a great film!

When: Thurs., 23 February. 7:30PM – 11:00PM, including screening, Q and A, and live performances (the film itself should screen from 7:45pm to 9:30pm)

Where: 93 Feet East (MAIN HALL): 150 Brick Lane, London E1 6QL What: ‘Louder Than a Bomb’ tells the story of four Chicago high school poetry teams as they prepare to compete in the world’s largest youth slam. By turns hopeful and heartbreaking, the film captures the turbulent lives of these unforgettable kids, exploring the ways writing shapes their world, and vice versa. Afterwards there will be a discussion about the Spoken Word in Education Project (a drive to get Spoken Word introduced into the UK curriculum) and selected spoken word/ slam poets will take to the stage for short performances.

FREE! RSVP to Rosie Knight at rosie.o.knight@googlemail.com Further details, including a trailer, may be found at– http://www.93feeteast.co.uk/diary/index.cfm?View=Day&EventDate=2012-02-23
